Q:  I have never worked in a bank. How do I get started in a Banking career?

A:  A perfect place to start is in the branch environment as a bank teller.  Teller applicants do not need to have previous Banking experience; however, applicants need a solid work, school or volunteer history.  All teller applicants must first complete an 'Applicant Profile' before advancing to the interview process.

Q:  What is an Applicant Profile?

A:  An 'Applicant Profile' is a series of questions the applicant must answer to measure the basic skills, work attitudes and judgment important for a customer service position.  An appointment will be scheduled to complete this written assessment, which takes approximately one hour.

Q:  What is the interview process like?

A:  Two individuals will most likely interview you.  Our structured interview process asks the same questions of all individuals applying for the position.  This behavioral based interview format is built on the premise that past behavior is the best indicator of future job performance.  Therefore, we use a structured format to draw out your past experiences in each of the core competency skills necessary to succeed in the position for which you are applying.  We want to hear specific examples about instances where you have demonstrated the use of these skills. We are interested in what you can do and what experiences have prepared you to be successful at Rhinebeck Savings Bank.

Q:  Is there any opportunity for career advancement?  Does Rhinebeck Savings Bank promote from within?

A:  Most definitely.  Rhinebeck Savings Bank believes in contributing to employees' personal and professional growth.  The Bank has an aggressive performance management process along with extensive employee development programs.  Every effort is made to identify internal candidates for position openings.  All positions are posted within the organization before pursuing external candidates.

Q:  Do you have part-time positions?

A:  Yes.  We offer year round part-time positions, student part-time positions and 9-month positions.

Q:  What benefits programs are offered by Rhinebeck Savings?

A:  We offer one of the most comprehensive employee benefit programs in the industry today. It is designed to meet the varying needs of our employees and includes a wide array of benefits - ranging from health care plans to wealth accumulation plans.

Q:  Do you offer internships?

A:  Rhinebeck Savings Bank offers internship opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students.  Internships serve as a great opportunity to acquire essential personal and professional skills, gain valuable work experiences, and get ahead in today's challenging job market.  Unpaid internships can be hosted during the summer or spring and fall semesters, for academic credit and / or work experience.

Q:  How can I be sure that a position I find online hasn't already been filled?

A:  Every effort will be made to remove job postings as soon as a position is filled.  You will receive an acknowledgment of your application receipt and will be contacted by us if your information is a match with the requirements of the open position.
