Rhinebeck Bancorp Announces Intention to Purchase Brinckerhoff & Neuville
November 2011 Michael J. Quinn, President & CEO of Rhinebeck Bancorp, the parent company of Rhinebeck Savings Bank and Mary E. Brinckerhoff, Chair of Brinckerhoff & Neuville Insurance Group announced the pending sale of Brinckerhoff & Neuville to Rhinebeck Bancorp. The sale of Brinckerhoff & Neuville will include their wholly-owned subsidiaries: Powers & Haar, Vail & Sutton and Tri-County Planning Services. The purchase is subject to regulatory approval and is scheduled to be completed by year end. 

The addition of the Brinckerhoff & Neuville Insurance Group to the companies owned by Rhinebeck Bancorp will create "a strong, community focused, local financial institution which will offer a full suite of banking and insurance products," said Mr. Quinn. He went on to say, "Both companies are respected, long-standing financial institutions serving the Hudson Valley region, Brinckerhoff & Neuville’s management will remain in place and the company will continue to focus on their customers and the communities they serve".

 The Brinckerhoff and Neuville Insurance Group was established by Todd Brinckerhoff and John Neuville in 1961. The agency through growth and acquisition has become recognized as a premier agency and is one of the oldest continuing independent insurance agencies in the State of New York. With over 50 years experience serving the Hudson Valley region, the Brinckerhoff & Neuville Insurance Group offers a full range of personal, business, bonding, as well as, life and employee benefits insurance programs through its offices in Fishkill and Cold Spring. Rhinebeck Savings Bank Names New Director
October 2011 - Michael J. Quinn, President & CEO, is pleased to announce the appointment of Suzanne Rhulen Loughlin to the Rhinebeck Savings Bank Board of Directors. "Ms. Loughlin’s legal background, in addition to her extensive involvement in local economic development groups adds great value to our already distinguished board", says Quinn.

 Ms. Loughlin is the co-founder and EVP, Chief Administrative Officer of Firestorm Solutions, LLC. Firestorm Solutions assists Fortune 100 companies and small businesses with their development of business continuity, vulnerability analysis, risk mitigation and crisis management plans. She previously held positions as Chief Administrative Officer and Director of a public insurance holding company and as Managing Attorney for a law firm.

Suzanne Rhulen Loughlin is a licensed attorney in New York, and serves as a member of both the New York State and Sullivan County Bar Associations. In addition, she sits on the Sullivan County Industrial Development Agency Board and serves as Director for Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress and Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development, which honored her with the Distinguished Service Award in 2009. Ms. Loughlin was also awarded the 2008 Woman of the Year award by The Catskill Mountain Business & Professional Women.

Suzanne Rhulen Loughlin resides in Rock Hill, NY with her husband, Joseph Loughlin, who is also an attorney practicing in Monticello, N.Y. They have two grown children.

 

Rhinebeck Savings Bank Hosts Family Coat Drive
October 2011 - Rhinebeck Savings Bank will be teaming up with Scheer Cleaners and Town & Country Cleaners for the Dutchess Outreach, Inc., 2011 Annual Coat Drive. This countywide effort helps many people in the local area be better prepared for the cold weather ahead. This year more than ever, many families have faced financial hardships and they can really use help.

Coat donations can be dropped off at any Rhinebeck Savings, Scheer Cleaners or Town & County Cleaners location from October 8th through October 22nd. Children and adult winter coats, new or used, are needed. Donations should be clean and in good condition. Other articles of clothing are not being collected at this time.

Dutchess Outreach has been serving clients since 1974, providing temporary basic needs for individuals and families when no other resources are readily available to them.

In addition to the Annual Coat Drive and Lunch Box meal programs, the staff at Dutchess Outreach provides advocacy for people in need of emergency housing, rent, medicine, and other social services. Their services are free to local families and individuals in need thanks to the volunteers and contributions from neighbors, friends, families, and organizations in the Hudson Valley. Rhinebeck Savings Hires Three Branch Managers
September 2011 - Michael J. Quinn, President and CEO of Rhinebeck Savings Bank, announces the appointment of Juan Paneto, Kevin Bennett and Robert Burnswick as branch managers for the Bank.

Juan Paneto, Branch Manager of the Beacon Area branch brings extensive experience in branch management and business development to the Bank. Juan is on the Board of the San Miguel Academy of Newburgh, the Latino Committee of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce as well as the Membership Acquisition Committee and the Consultant’s Committee of the Orange County Regional Chamber of Commerce. He resides in New Hampton, NY with his wife and children.

Kevin Bennett, Branch Manager of the East Fishkill branch comes to Rhinebeck Savings with banking experience and holds several professional licenses. Kevin is a graduate of Leadership Dutchess and is a member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. He resides in Wappingers Falls, NY with his wife and son.

Robert Burnswick, Branch Manager of the Arlington branch has gained many years of management experience from other local financial institutions, as well as financial services. In his new position, Robert’s focus will be growing our customer base in the Poughkeepsie area. He is a member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Robert resides in Red Hook, NY.


Rhinebeck Savings Adds VP, Director of Marketing

- Michael J. Quinn, President and CEO of Rhinebeck Savings Bank, announces the addition of Frank Koechlein to the position of VP, Director of Marketing. Mr. Koechlein will be expanding the scope of marketing to support the Bank’s vision for growth within the Hudson Valley. He will also focus on developing new marketing strategies to maximize new product and service delivery systems.

"Frank is an excellent addition to our team," said Michael J. Quinn, President and CEO.   "His strong strategic planning, direct marketing and leadership experience will greatly benefit Rhinebeck Savings Bank and our customers."

With over 20 years of experience, Frank brings a new and dynamic approach to the Bank’s marketing strategy. He previously owned and operated his own marketing firm out of New London, NH and has developed marketing strategies for financial institutions, conducted on-going analysis and developed new products. Frank has worked with Merrill Lynch, Dreyfus, Prudential and TIAA-CREF. Frank holds a MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

"I am pleased to be back in the area close to family and friends," says Mr. Koechlein, "I was impressed with the progressive management of the Bank and I’m excited to be part of the great team Mr. Quinn has assembled."

Frank lives in LaGrange with his wife Karen and has five children.

 

Rhinebeck Savings Hires AVP, Employee Development
September 2011 - Michael J. Quinn, President and CEO of Rhinebeck Savings Bank, is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric B. Harvey to the bank as the AVP, Employee Development. Mr. Harvey will be developing and implementing new training curriculum to further enhance the performance of our employees.

A 20-year veteran in organizational training and employee development, Eric brings extensive knowledge of innovative training methods and programs. Prior to joining Rhinebeck Savings Bank, he was the AVP, Senior Manager of Training at a regional Bank. Eric earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources and an International Business Certificate from IONA College, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Political Studies, from Adelphi University.

Mr. Harvey is the Assistant Cub Master of Rye Pack 2 of the Algonquin District of the Boy Scouts of America as well as a member of American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Eric resides in Rye, NY with his wife and three children.
